This typed copy of Ingram's narrative is accompanied by a business card from Cooper R. Ragan, Attorney at Law, which states, "Ed [Clark]: Typewritten copy from A. R's collection which he had made before the Herzog book was published." Ingram's narrative was published in 1589 in: The principal navigations, voiages and discoveries of the English nation ... by Richard Hakluyt, p. 557-562. An article by Everette DeGolyer, including the narrative, appeared in the Southwest review, v. XXVI, no. 2, Winter, 1941, p. 167-187. In 1947, the DeGolyer article, with a facsimile of the Hakluyt version of the narrative, was reprinted by Peripatetic Press, El Paso, Texas, Carl Herzog printer.

Everette Lee DeGolyer, Sr. was born on October 9, 1886, in Greensburg, Kansas, the eldest of three children born to John and Narcissa DeGolyer. He began his career in geology as a freshman at the University of Oklahoma in the fall of 1905 and spent the following summer as a field assistant for the United States Geological Survey.
